Program description

This program provides a comprehensive foundation to allow graduates from any background to be able to undertake property and urban development projects, either from a physical execution to that of financial analysis and funding.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of any undergraduate degree; or qualifications and/or extensive relevant professional experience deemed equivalent by the Faculty Dean.

Enrolment

International Students: To fulfil your student visa requirements, you’ll need to enrol in 30cp per semester. However, you may enrol in 40cp per semester (with your Program Advisor’s authorisation) which will reduce the time to complete your program.

Domestic Students have the option of undertaking either 30 or 40cp per semester.

Intensive Mode delivery*

Intensive Mode Delivery (IMD) is a compacted and time efficient way for students to complete their postgraduate qualification with minimal impact for students on their work/home lifestyle.
It is anticipated that students will attend two, 3-day sessions, per subject, scheduled Thursday to Saturday each week. Approximately 6 to 8 contact hours per day. Students will receive approximately 40 hours of combined lectures, discussion groups, case studies and workshops during their weekly contact hours.
Intensive Mode Delivery is currently available to domestic students only. International students should enquire with the Faculty of Business, Technology and Sustainable Development.

Professional Outcomes

The Master of Urban Development and Sustainability is a degree which prepares graduates for challenging careers in the property and urban development industry and professions. This Masters develops a wide range of skills, attitudes and knowledge that are required by organisations in the public and private sector, which require advice on the use, form, development and potential of their property assets and facilities from an organisational, occupational, investment and development perspective.

Professional Recognition

At Bond University we understand the importance of professional recognition. The School of Sustainable Development has commenced negotiations with the relevant professional institutions and it is anticipated by the end of 2008 all programs will have completed the accrediting process. More details.

WORK INTEGRATED LEARNING

Work Integrated Learning is designed to promote and support student learning, personal development and professional practice. Students will participate in a series of experiential exercises which may include field trips, seminars featuring guest lectures from industry leaders, work experience and projects. All exercises are monitored by academic staff and in conjunction with career advisor. The subject aims to: facilitate students’ self-analysis and reflective issues and problems; and apply theoretical knowledge in seeking solutions for practical workplace problems.
