This program is offered to graduates of any discipline. It is a program clearly focused on preparing graduates for work as journalists by offering a range of practical experiences grounded in a sound theoretical base. The focus is on creating journalism work to a professional standard and in adopting best practice industry techniques.

Entry requirements

Completion of an undergraduate degree program at an approved institution with a record of performance at least at Credit (65%) level, subject to the decision of the Dean or designate. IELTS 7.0 with no band score less than IELTS 6.5.

Professional Outcomes

This program is the ideal path for anyone pursuing a career as a specialist reporter, news director or editor. It is an innovative degree which offers a blend of theory and practice focused on
professional postgraduate training in journalism.

Attendance

Most students undertake four subjects per semester (equivalent to 40 credit points). You may, however, enrol in fewer subjects and extend your degree over a longer period.

Bond's Teaching methodology involves a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, examinations, projects, presentations, assignments, computer labs and industry projects.

Work Experience and Internships

Some students without practical workplace experience, or with workplace experience in a field different from their studies, choose to undertake an internship as part of their degree.

This intensely practical professional development approach fosters graduates who are ready, willing and able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact in the workplace.
