How to Apply

To apply for a Canada Student Loan, contact your provincial or territorial Student Assistance Office or visit their web site (some offer on-line applications). A list of websites for Student Assistance Offices can be found at:

Your Student Assistance Office will assess your financial need, process your loan application, confirm your eligibility and advise how much you will receive in federal and provincial loans.

Once you have been awarded a loan, the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) administers your federal loan (Canada Student Loan). To learn more about the NSLSC, visit their website at www.canlearn.ca.

If you qualify for a Canada Student Loan, you will receive a letter of assessment, a Certificate of Eligibility (Schedule 1), and a Student Loan Agreement within 4-6 weeks of application.
