International Exchange
Tuition & Funding
Bond exchange students continue to pay their tuition fees to Bond. This means that if you study four subjects at your exchange institution then you will pay for four subjects worth of tuition to Bond. Any tuition fees at the exchange institution will be waived. All other costs such as accommodation, health cover and activities fees will be paid directly to the exchange institution.
Exchange Grant:
All students who are accepted into the Exchange Program are eligible for an Exchange Grant of AUD $2000. This grant is funded by the Office of Admissions and is intended to assist students with additional expenditure associated with overseas travel.
EXCHANGE GRANT CONDITIONS:
- Students must give a presentation about Bond University whilst at the exchange institution
- Students must complete the pre-departure form
- Students must write a 3 page report about their exchange experience

UMAP Funding:
Australian UMAP (University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific) Programme is administered by the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) which provides funding to Australian higher education institutions to set up and monitor UMAP student exchanges with eligible counterpart higher education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region and to support Australian higher education students’ participation in these exchanges.
The Australian UMAP Programme is a part of the Australian response to the establishment of the regional UMAP Exchange Programme following discussions between representatives of higher education in Asia and the Pacific in 1991, 1992 and 1993. The objectives and conditions of the regional UMAP Exchange Programme can be obtained from the regional UMAP website at http://www.umap.org
The objectives of the Australian UMAP Programme aim to:
- Promote credit transfer arrangements between higher education institutions in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region with a view to supporting mutual recognition of educational qualifications
- Increase cooperation between higher education institutions in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region including the development of higher education programmes
- Increase the number of Australian graduates with cultural, language and professional experience relevant to the region.
- Each year Australian universities submit to DEST an application for certain grants, these are for limited amounts at limited institutions. For more information please contact the Office of Admissions.
Scholarships:
If you are currently on a scholarship to Bond University this will still apply towards your tuition for your exchange semester.
