CAMBRIDGE "English AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE" EXAM PREPARATION Courses

The Cambridge English as a Foreign Language (EFL) examinations are well known throughout the world. They are considered as highly reliable competency tests for both employment and study purposes.

Who should apply?

You should consider applying for the Cambridge EFL examinations program if:

  • You wish to improve your English intensively for either employment or academic studies
  • You are an international student for whom English is a foreign language and you require a certain Cambridge Certificate Pass as an entry qualifications for employment or a university course.
  • You wish to have a formal qualification in English

Entry Requirements

Intermediate to upper-intermediate level English is required for entry to the First Certificate in English.

We can assess your level of English before you enrol, or you can take preparatory studies in General English and enter a Cambridge course as soon as you have reached the necessary level of English proficiency.

Important examinations such as the Cambridge examinations need adequate preparation time, so students need to enrol for at least one semester (12 weeks) of full time study. Tuition for Cambridge FCE courses begins in January, March and September.

BUELI offers students the opportunity to study the following examination course:

FCE - First Certificate in English

First Certificate English (FCE)

The FCE is the most widely taken of all the Cambridge examinations. It is at the Upper-Intermediate English level, and aims to develop your skills in English to a level that is 'sufficient for public contact in employment in areas such as banking, airlines, catering, etc'.

FCE examination fee: AU$330.00

Progress

A final examination is held each year for FCE. This takes place in March, June and December. Students pay the University of Cambridge for the examination fees.
