Anatomy and Histology Lab

The Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine opened the purpose-built Anatomy Laboratory in 2010.

The laboratory is used extensively by students from Biomedical Science, Medicine, and Physiotherapy. These students are encouraged to use the laboratory outside of scheduled class times to enhance learning and refine skills.

State-of-the-art equipment

The laboratory is fitted to handle human cadaveric material and includes other essential resources, including:

  • An extensive collection of modern anatomical models
  • 50 student microscopes
  • Audio/visual system, including plasma screens for high quality image display
  • A large Histology slide collection

In addition, the laboratory is equipped with microscopes fitted with high quality digital cameras dedicated to displaying microscopic images to plasma screens, enhancing the learning of all students.
