If practising law is your goal, begin the journey with our Bachelor of Laws or, for postgraduate students, the Juris Doctor. Taught by legal experts with decades of industry experience, our programs not only focus on imparting legal knowledge, but also work to develop crucial ‘lawyering’ skills including problem solving, innovation, and compassion – to prepare you for the workforce. If you’d prefer to learn more about how great legal minds can shape the world, and hone your skills for a specific niche, we offer several undergraduate and postgraduate programs that lay legal foundations but will not qualify you for admission as a lawyer.

Law facilities

Bond's law facilities include three moot courts, one of which is an electronic courtroom (e-courtroom) equipped with cutting-edge technology such as video conferencing, wireless networking, video streaming, and electronic evidence management - mirroring modern Australian courtrooms. For students pursuing careers beyond litigation, Bond offers additional resources tailored to diverse legal pathways. The Faculty of Law building features eight legal skills rooms designed for mediation and dispute resolution training. These rooms include one-way mirrors to support teaching, analysis, and assessment, allowing students to simulate professional scenarios and build confidence to enter the workforce.

Bridging theory and practice

Our law students don’t just study the law – they practise it. The Bond Law Clinic is the Faculty of Law’s very own law firm, providing law students with the opportunity to apply their learning and gain the practical lawyering skills that employers are seeking. By volunteering alongside our principal solicitor and volunteer legal professionals, students contribute to a free pro bono legal advice service for the community and work on real legal matters.

Alternative practical opportunities are also offered through the Bond Legal Clinics Program each semester. From criminal law, environmental law, community law and more, students gain hands-on volunteer experience tackling a wide range of legal issues, building on practical skills and professional confidence.

Empowering future lawyers

Mooting at Bond

The Mooting Program at Bond University forms a fundamental part of the Bond Law experience, and mooting is a proud tradition. Mooting is a simulated court proceeding where student teams are presented with a legal problem which they are required to argue before a panel of judges.

Bond Law has earned an outstanding reputation for advocacy excellence in moot competitions internationally and in Australia. Bond Law is proud of our mooting reputation and accolades, with Bond mooters often winning competitions and also taking out the top honours as individual best oralists and for written submissions. In 2025, Bond University won the international Sports Arbitration Moot in Spain. 

The mooting program ensures Bond Law students are equipped with the practical legal skills necessary in legal practice. There are mooting opportunities every semester. Students represent Bond University in over a dozen national and international mooting and advocacy competitions, and are provided with a designated academic staff member as a coach and are supported financially by the Faculty of Law.

James Johnson's story

A beautiful game: The Matilda's movement

James is an accomplished sports administrator and the Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Soccer Business. Formerly the CEO of Football Australia, Johnson played a pivotal role in the success of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup hosted in Australia and New Zealand. James studied a Juris Doctor at Bond University and in 2025 was the recipient of the prestigious Alumni Medal, recognising his contributions to the sport and leadership in global football development.

Bond Law has a well-established reputation for engaging in and delivering innovative and impactful research into diverse aspects of law, legal doctrine, law reform, law in context and related disciplines.

Particular strengths include traditional legal areas such as commercial law, comparative law and international law, as well as cutting edge topics in dispute resolution, legal education, and law and technology.
